Songbox is a virtual meeting place for creators of music (songwriters, artists, producers, bands) and companies within the music industry (music publishers, records companies, managers, clubs etc.). Songbox focuses on new unsigned and unpublished music. Songbox consists of two user groups, musicians and businesses. On one side are producers of new music, and on the other those who use music in their business. Songbox is the link between the two.

Songbox for Musicians
Songbox is not an ordinary music community like Myspace, where the aim is to make your music accessible to everyone. Instead, Songbox offers you a unique opportunity to get in direct contact with key persons and companies within the music industry who can help you reach your goals.

Do what you do best – make music!
We work with many of the leading players within the global music industry, and our goal is to collect all the contacts you need in one place regardless of whether you are looking for gigs, a record deal or a publishing deal. It is often difficult to know who to send your music to within a company, or which company does what. We do that for you, letting you focus on what you do best – making great music.

Uploading your music to Songbox does not automatically make it accessible to the public. The people behind Songbox are active songwriters, producers and publishers and have a lot of experience in the music business, so we know that sometimes you don’t want your music accessible to everyone on the Internet.

With all of the possibilities available through the Internet, it is easy to think that you can do everything yourself. But even if you are talented and make great music, there is no guarantee that an audience will find you. There is a reason why managers, music publishers and record companies exist, they know how to market music. Through Songbox you have access to a broad spectrum of the industry and accordingly the resources needed to make your music a success.
At Songbox it is free to upload your music, however, you pay a small fee when sending your music to professionals in the Songbox community, much like sending a CD through the mail. Using a simple credit based system you can purchase credits on-line using a credit/debit card, Paypal or text message (SMS).

Listening guarantee
Music companies are flooded with links to profile pages on communities such as Myspace, MP3.com, etc., but rarely make the effort to visit these. With Songbox you can be sure that they listen! The core of the Songbox Business membership is to offer those seeking new music for their business a system which facilitates listening to and managing music files in the MP3 format. Traditional email systems are outdated in this area, since large files take time to download and quickly fill up your inbox. With Songbox Business we have taken the best features of an email system, to a whole new level.

Your Songbox – an unlimited inbox
By using our system for receiving music you get an unlimited inbox (your “Songbox”), where all the music that our members send you ends up. This music can be streamed from our server, meaning you won’t have to download every song which is sent to you. Songs can be stored online using a simple folder system and if you wish, downloaded and saved to your hard drive. Incoming songs can be sorted by date, name, your rating, etc., and with one click of the mouse you’ll get to the artist’s own profile page on Songbox where you can find more info on the artist. The members’ profile pages work as personal homepages where you can watch videos, browse photo albums, read reviews by other users, etc.
